Order the Iron Man Scramble with ground beef...and wheat toast. Holy crap! The portions are amazing...and quality is bell ringing off the chart! You wont be let down eating all your meals here while in the territory.
Absolutely great breakfasts. LOVED the hashbrowns and the egg scrambles are all time. But that's only worth 4 stars. I'm eagerly handing them a 5 star review for the hand made, baked bread miracle they pull off daily. Maybe the best bread maker in California? For reals. Worth a multihour drive for their honey wheat or sourdough alone. 5 stars all the way, a true gem. Fantastic breakfasts and truly world class, hand made breads.
The iron man scramble was the best breakfast I've ever had - really! And the biscuit! Oh my. I can't wait to go back. My wife's breakfast was excellent, too. She had eggs and bacon and the multigrain pancake with blueberry and banana. Amazing! I like what one reviewer said: It'd be a shame to drive up 395 and not stop here. I agree wholeheartedly and, from now on, will make sure my trips to Mammoth coincide with me being in Lone Pine at breakfast time. I might even try their lunch.
Best breakfast diner in Lone Pine. It's small so be early. Kindof tucked away off main street west on Post St. small café/bakery on the right. 111 W. Post St. Lone Pine, CA 5 stars.
My family and I have been here multiple times and we have been impressed every time. It would almost be a crime to drive past this place on HWY 395 without stopping by to experience amazing "homemade" food and the small town yet professional service. The Owner is usually hanging out and makes sure that your visit is great...The Alabama Hills Cafe has become a part of our family's vacation ritual every year....
