The Grand Oak Steakhouse & Bar
Reviews

My husband & I decided to try a new place for our "date night"! We were VERY PLEASED! We ate in the main dining room, however, after we ate, we went into the comfortable & relaxing bar area to hear a few numbers from the talented, Nu Beginnings! We wished they were there after 8 PM!! (Kinda early!!) The friendly wait staff and management were very knowledgeable about the items on menu and could explain well various items well. Once the hors d'oeuvres were served we were AMAZED!! (Pan seared scallops & crab cakes) They were FRESH (even saw a kitchen staff cutting fresh herbs from the garden area as we entered) a variety of unusual veggies and an array of color were displayed on our plates beautifully! Then the main entree came, we had lamb & salmon----FABULOUS!!! Again, beautiful color, cook perfectly, not to dry and GREAT FRESH HERBS!! Didn't have room for desert---next time. Everything was so beautiful to look at that I even took some pictures to post on Facebook!! GREAT, GREAT, GREAT date! We hope to be back soon. Thanks everyone for a wonderful evening to add to our memories!

This is a shiny spot in the Culinary wasteland that is the I.E./Redlands area. The decor is lacking to say the least. The food is done well with good flavors and presentation. The wine list is meh, okay. Service is what it is, no professional waiter/waitress staff here but they try. If the decor matched the food quality more I would feel better about the prices which are a little high. All and all, pay attention to the food and you will be fine, remember it is Beaumont/Cheer Valley, NOT LA, Chicago, NYC. It's a hell of alot better than the fast food hell that thrives in the area.

Only authentic steakhouse around the area. Not only the authenticity of the place but the quality and taste is extraordinary. Top steakhouse in California, I would say with a huge confidence. Must go!

We went for the New Year's Buffet. Horrible! Grand Oaks does not know how to serve a buffet. Most dishes were not labeled. I had to ask what kind of salad dressings were on the table. The table clothes were white and everything was very sterile. No New Year's decorations to be found. My husband took what he thought were lox and for a man who loves everything, he had to practically spit it out as it was "some kind of processed something". When I asked for water, I was told I would have to get my own from the drink station. Then I saw several other waiters taking drinks to tables. The food was cold and had no taste. I know the Grand Oaks has good dinners and we love the Wednesday night burger special. Grand Oaks needs to stick with what they know and forget about serving holiday buffets!!

Our first time at the Grand Oak was awesome. Loved the shrimp and crab cake with arugula, asparagus, and snap peas. The citrus dressing was not overwhelming yet it was not too sweet. Just right. It melted in my mouth. I cant remember eating anything my mouth simply enjoyed more than this. The main entree was chicken and it was good. Not dry. Just cooked right. My dessert was good. Not too rich again just right. I hate overly sweet cake. This cake was good. It was nice knowing that the restaurant and resort history goes back to 1880. Service was good. My water glass was never empty. Can't wait to go back.
