Saguaro Corners Restaurant & Bar

My wife and I have been here twice with our 2 young children. Nice out door area that allows for children to move about a little while parents finish their meal. We went on a Friday evening around 530. It gets busier later with live music. We hung out while our kids danced to an acoustic country singer that was not too loud and made it a great evening. To top it off everything we have jad was great! Tacos, wings, home made hummus, nachos all great! The only downside was service was a little slow. ..but I believe it is because they are under new ownership and they are ramping up so quickly its hard to keep pace. Hey if I have to wait a little bit longer for good food while I'll sip a beer (and they have a nice selection on tap) and listen to good music while staring at the mountains from the patio thats a small price to pay. Price being my third point. Last time I was there they had a great $2.00 IPA on tap everything else is very reasonable too! Do yourself a favor and check it out. You'll feel like you are on vacation and you're just around the corner.
This was our first visit. Food, service, entertainment were all outstanding. Awesome selection of draft beers. The shrimp & grits meal is an award winner! Can't wait to go back!
the new menu is no where close to as good as the old one was ...the Mac and cheese with chorizo tasted like hamburger helper, the fried chicken was bland and way over priced for the potion, especially considering the bbq chicken was the same price and they give you half a chicken which is why I thought I would get more than a small drumstick and a chicken tender anyway...the service was horrible not making sure our drinks were full and after dropping off the food never returned till we went to the bar and asked for our check a good 15 mins after the last person finished eating considering the fact that we were the only table in the place and had over a $100 tab you'd think we would be paid attn to... they also got rid of there happy hour menu which was great and made the trip out to bfe worth it...just like everyone else in tucson I won't be eating there anymore either seriously we were the only ppl in the restaurant at 7:30pm
We went in hoping it was awesome because it's one of the only places on that side of town that is continent. The staff and waiters and everyone was very delightful, setting outside was very laid back and nice with the beautiful weather. But the food could have been so much more. The only reason I'm writing this is to hopefully give feedback to help out. The way we described it was just very BLAND. Jalapeno poppers had 0 flavor. the cream cheese mixture and dipping sauce was so muted i didn't even finish it. I make better at home with cream cheese and a packet of ranch dry mix dressing and cheddar cheese. The steak burrito my husband said had zero seasoning. the flavor just wasn't there. The beans and rice we thought were packaged and canned. The margarita was blah also with a lot of sweet and sour mix. We were hoping to get some awesome margaritas sit on the great patio and be pleasantly surprised by good food, but it just didn't hit the mark. Nice place and nice people and great place to go relax for a drink and some chips. The tacos were good :) Could have used more of the sauces like the pineapple slaw stuff or the special goodies to make the taco good! hopefully the chefs can jazz up the food with simple cooking techniques to really make this place great. :)
I'm really liking the new changes and the return to a great dining experience at this historic Tucson restaurant. The food, service and vibe are really great.
