great place to have a great time or a date unless you want to talk to a person so i recommend this for people who like loudness and the good vibes oh btw there is very little space but it's a cool place overall!!!!!!
This review is partially based on Lux and partially based on the clientele. Lux is what you think of when you think coffee shop. It reminds me of the places I went in Portland during college. One frustrating thing is they don't really have a 'menu' available. It's not a huge deal breaker, but sometimes I want something new/different and having a bit of inspiration helps. The second thing: space. It's always packed regardless of if you go at 1 p.m. on a Monday or 7 p.m. on a Friday. You probably can find a seat for yourself (3/4 of the time at least), but you're going to struggle if there are 2 or more people. Also, don't go there if you want a quiet place to study, work, read, etc. It's loud. No other way to describe it. Even with earplugs I still hear the crowd. The second: clientele. This definitely is an attended hipster place. People trying to act cool ("look at my Macbook Air and my ratty shirt!"), so they can be judgemental. For instance, the other day I went into a room with 7 people and sat down with my 17' Dell. The other 7 people around me had Macbook Air's and, I kid you not, one personal chuckled and a few others smiled. No big deal, but I come to relax and have a great coffee ... not to be judged. Overall, a great place with little space. If I'm near it, I'll drop in, but if I'm trying to work, etc., I go to Starbucks .... that's how loud/cramped it is.
My wife and I finally visited, and we loved it. Its laid back. The mac and cheese was delicious, along with the espresso cake. I loved the ice tea. I would certainly recommend this place. Grab a seat, drink a tea, and have a good day.
Just had an incredibly tasty breakfast at Lux. The cafe being packed at 8 am on a Sunday morning should tell you something. The menu is simple but complete, the food is great, and the baristas know what they're doing on their La Marzocco 3-group machine. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the kitchen really efficient. What more can anyone ask for?
Eclectic atmosphere. Constantly changing baked goods, as the staff is baking all the time. The bartender literally crafts each cocktail like it is a work of art. The macaroni and cheese with bacon is phenomenal. The staff is incredible. Huge cups of coffee with free refills. You simply cannot get a bad item in this place. If you like artsy, unique, one of a kind finds, with truly quality food and drink, this is your place.
