They really dropped the ball when we were there in early March to celebrate a family member's birthday. We had called ahead to arrange a surprise dessert to be delivered at the end of the meal. The special treatment was to be a secret. When we walked in, the staff immediately asked if we were the people who had reserved the table for a birthday celebration. Not a big deal, but not what we had in mind for the surprise celebration and dessert. What was really troubling, however, was that they didn't follow through. They took our dessert order and never brought out the special birthday dessert we had arranged! We had been assured ahead of time that everything was good to go and would be perfect. The food was hit or miss as well. My filet mignon tasted like it had very spicy "blackening" seasoning on it, and everyone's filet - normally a terrific cut of meat that should cut with a fork - was tough. Drink cups went without refills throughout the meal and service was generally slow and poor overall. This place has the potential to be nice, but given the high prices, should be providing significantly better food and service. We won't be going back. When you are in Buffalo, try Winchester's for much better food and service. Even Bozeman Trail - a less fancy establishment - is better.

The menu seems a standard fine dining one - especially for places not in large cities. It's mostly steaks, chops, and a smattering of other fare like chicken breast done in various ways. The menu itself also seems a sort of 70's version of an 'old west' printing (but I liked it that way!). However, when looked into and explained and when the specials are considered, the whole picture changes. They had wonderful east coast oysters on the half shell when I visited. They also have a great take on a salad side - a grilled romaine lettuce half dressed in a Caesar manner which was just fantastic. The potato sides were also special - mine was a potato cake - baked layered potatoes with brie and herbs. My pork chop was one of the best I've even had - and was raised in TX from a heritage breed. It was crusted on the outside with a perfect crispy texture and wonderful saltiness. Inside it was tender and juicy, and rich in flavor. The chutney accompaniment went perfectly with the pork. Don't pass up this place. Next time I'm planning on staying at the hotel as well!
