Spanky's has great food with an informal family atmosphere. It's a small town friendly business with a good variety of pizzas and other foods. Our family favorite is the Spanky's Gourmet Burger.
We first tried the food when we moved up here abou 2.5 years ago, it was just simple nothing fancy, nothing that stuck out in my mind. Being from a much bigger city we didn't often dine in the area. With the up coming bad weather we decided to try again. This time ordering a bit of everything off the menu, The pizza again was boring, the thin crust was soggy and limp. The thicker crust pizza was cut in un even slices. We also tried the chicken tender meal, the fries seemed like they were cooked earlier and microwaved to warm them again, stale hard and didn't taste well at all. The chicken was yet again basic not very flavor full but it wasn't very crisp almost slimy. We also decided to try the cheese bread, which we didn't actually end up eating after taking the first bite and realizing it had melted through the foam it was packaged in. They didn't seem to listen to the simpler parts or our order, asking for extra red sause with the bread, we didn't get any sauce. I was just not impressed and would rather drive a bit farther to surrounding cities for better food, quality and service.
