Pride of America Camping Resort
Reviews
To all of you saying this place is too loud, has too many golf carts, too much drinking etc...take yourselves elsewhere. Pride of America is a really fun campground if you are a fun person! My kids (ages 4,8 and 10) love it there so much. We go up every single weekend almost! There are Always things for kids and adults to do. If you don't like a party, fun atmosphere then this place isn't for you.
This is NOT camping! If you love loud noise/music, drunk people and unattended children of all ages, then great. We did not. The noise ordinance was not enforced at ALL. During the day, they played loud music continually, and inappropriate music at that (i.e. Crazy B#!@$%, in addition to others ). Ridiculously, crazy! Everyone drives around in golf carts, while intoxicated-- we actually saw a few of them fall right out of the golf cart, due to being intoxicated! AND, remember, kids are everywhere--extremely unsafe! My children were subject to this nuts environment, and I will not be going back.
this place is the bomb digity!! its is a great place for adults and children of all ages. there is a park, jumping pillow, and basketball courts for kids. A bar and grill for adults and the beautiful lake. the rates are great and it is totally worth your money i cant wait to go back for my fifth year in 2015
Love this campground! The staff is great and they know you by name even if you only camp there a few times each year! The campground does have a lot of golf cart traffic and is a completely fun campground for adults and kids. It is not quiet, so if you want quiet, go stay at a campground full of senior citizens! If you want fun for adults and kids, THIS IS THE PLACE! Absolutely love it! Great job!
Overall, the campground has a lot to offer. Great swimming and activities for the kids. The staff was very friendly. The bathrooms/showers were clean but some showers had no hooks, bench, anything to put items on other than the floor. The biggest issue was the non-stop golf cart traffic from mid-morning through late night with extremely drunk people driving and cranking their music. It was non-stop all Saturday. Even after dark, many of the carts were going well beyond the 5 mph speed that was posted. While packing up, a seasonal camper behind us had his music cranked so loud you could hear it 6 sites away. This was common during our stay. Staff was friendly but did absolutely nothing to deal with the carts. One guy rode around for over 3 hours, drinking, no hands, music blaring, many times right past the main office. Apparently it is not an issue. Decent weekend but we will not be back.
