Very nice looking place with good beer on tap. Service was excellent. I had their "specialty" meatloaf and garlic smashed potatoes with gravy and sourdough bread under the meatloaf... and wow was I surprised! Literally the best meatloaf I have ever had. I'm not some crazed meatloaf person and don't have it very often, but I had a craving that day and it was definitely the right call. What a meal :) My girlfriend was equally as pleased with her veggie wrap.

Flat Creek is a great family restaurant. I recently tried the fish fry and ordered the broiled fish. It was very good. They make great long island teas and often have 2 for 1 happy hour specials. A good thing to remember is that the restaurant only serves the breakfast menu on Sundays. They have great breakfast deals. My only gripe-their coffee is mediocre.

Our recent trip to the northland brought us to Flat Creek twice, one for desert and another for a family dinner. Our experience left us with mixed feelings. On the plus side the decor is attractive in the local up north style and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. The service was pleasant and efficient and there was very little wait time for our order. On both occasions we found the portions to be ample and the prices on par with similar family eateries ,however, on the minus side the quality of the food left us wanting more and feeling let down because this is a place with a lot going for it and we really wanted to like our experience better than we did.

Great family atmosphere and prices! Our family of 6 ate for $42 (2 were kids meals). Their calzones are amazing and generous. Ask for the sauce on the side if you order the stromboli... I found it very flavorful and full of veggies, but too spicy for my taste. We always stop by Flat Creek Eatery when we're in town.

Great food, but have to agree about the service. The staff is friendly enough, but the owner/management just has to suck it up and put another body on the floor to help people out. Our waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off waiting on about a dozen tables by herself--felt bad asking her for a doggie bag. The extra staff will pay dividends in the long run.
