Half Moon Bay Bar & Grill

Sh*t hole. Worst service ever. $9 shot of cazadores in Westport, WA.. Okay. This may sound crazy..but it makes Ocean Shores bars seem like paradise.
August 2014 - Ate dinner. We ordered 1 drink, an appetizer, 1 meals, 1 salad, and a bowl of chowder. The waitress was nice and personable but she forgot to bring my drink and my meal. She only brought the appetizer, chowder, salad, and a 2nd bowl of chowder which was supposed to come with the meal that never came. This is unacceptable service and you should never have to remind a waiter/waitress to bring half of the food that was ordered. I was completely astonished that the waitress failed to bring an entire meal and the drink. Fortunately she did not include the forgotten items on the bill and I simply didn't say anything but wrote her a note on the receipt about this. The food wasn't any better than the service. The ahi tuna appetizer was over-sauced which ruined it. Ahi tuna is one of my favorite dishes and I've never had ahi tuna I did not like until eating here. The salad was average at best. The clam chowder was good and hot. The prices were high, we spent $42 for 2 clam chowders, 1 appetizer, and 1 salad. The decor was great and had a wonderful view over the marina, but this did not make up for the poor food and service. I will not eat here again.
Run away from here. Bad, expensive service. Just okay food. Every request for another drink was met with a look of being put out. We will never return.
Wonderful family dining experience
The only thing this place is good for is their daily 3p-6p Happy Hour, they've got a great beer (skip the overly sweet cocktails!) and appetizer selection at value prices... only reason we even gave this place a second and third chance! This place could be incredible, under the right ownership and management though. It is evident that they get by on their appeal to tourists, as it is attached to a hotel and it's right on the water. If it weren't for that factor, I could see this place getting beat by its only other true competitor across the street, Bennet's.. and closing down. The first thing this place suffers from is terrible front of the house staff, they are all over the place and no one knows what's going on! The hostess wouldn't let us sit in the bar area where we could clearly see open tables, and had us wait 15 minutes to then forget about us, and try to go on to sit a group that came in after us, until we called her out on it. She then sat us in a section with about 8 open tables, so we didn't even understand why we even waited in the first place. The servers are clumsy and on edge, and always pass us around from one to another, and other tables that came in after us even got their food way before we did. There's no organization or communication here clearly. The second thing this place suffers from is a limited menu, especially when it comes to Fish (in Westport of all places?!), and the food is so incredibly overpriced, even for basics like fish and chips ($17!), and a terrible cheese mess with barely any crab and shrimp that they call a "Surf Melt" ($14). I can't recommend this place for anything other than Happy Hour, their Fish Tacos and Korean Fried Chicken are worth being on the menu as an entree. Don't waste your time, money and palate any other time or on anything else.
