Unfortunately I have moved to North Carolina and what they call BBQ here is the meat itself and I used to think it was great until I had Dixies! I was having Dixies once or twice a month, loved it but couldn't do much more than that! I would get the dinner with all the meats potato salad pasta salad cornbread and cake and beans I think and I would get two spoonfuls of the man sauce. I guess the man sauce is like gold, Gene would come and finger through my bones to make sure I wasn't wasting the sauce! I loved everything about it. Not hardly a day goes by I don't wish I was there to get some Dixies!

The spiciest sauce I have ever had, "The Man" will beat your ass and you'll enjoy it. BBQ pork was stellar

Those who have read my other reviews know how much I love BBQ and make it a staple on nearly every business trip. So, while in Seattle, we decided to try this highly recommended joint. As many of the reviews for Dixie's point out the service is a bit rude which is part of their ruse, but at least on this day it wasn't all that noticeable to me. The service was extremely slow, but they do have a sign telling you this is not Mcdonalds and you will have to wait in line. Problem for me is there were literally 2 people in front of us and it still took 20 minutes to get food. Also beware, they only take cash. They may take local checks, but credit/debit cards are definitely not an option. I realize there are still some places like this, but come on, it's the 21st century folks, so many people don't even carry cash anymore. As far as the food goes, it is average BBQ at best. I ordered the brisket and hot link sandwich. Turns out the hot link is really just a hot dog, very disappointing. I also heard all day about going to see the man, which is apparently this super hot sauce you can get on your BBQ. Unfortunately, there was no man to be found as they were out of this sauce today. Overall a disappointing BBQ experience, but Seattle is not supposed to be known for amazing BBQ, so maybe they should get a pass on this one.

Best BBQ I have had since I was in Louisiana. Hard to find, but worth the trip.
