Decided to try this place based on the reviews. Walked in and proceeded to get stared down by our waitress. Several minutes passed before she indicated we could sit anywhere we wanted. We get our basket of chips and salsa. I can't ever recall getting salsa in a container the size of a side of tartar sauce. Look at the menu and the dishes come with one tortilla. I kid you not, ONE tortilla! Want more, they cost extra. While waiting for our food, our waitress passes by the counter that has two baskets of chips, proceeds to take one and eat it. Not too long after, that same basket was given to some customers that had just come in. Right after, another girl was stacking clean glasses and dropped four on the ground. She put two in the dirty dish tub and stacked the other two with the clean stack. Now about the food...the prices are excellent, the food is okay but nothing to write home about...unless you like it with no seasoning whatsoever!
Glad we stopped in. Great lunch and a great crew. Much better than just a fast food stop on the highway!
My club sandwitch was very good. Homemade bread was awesome. Hubby's mexican combo plate was just as good. Wonderful waitress, actually paid for our dinner because she said it took longer then usual to get it out to us. We will definitely be stopping in at Papa's Pantry next time through Van Horn.
Everything I tried here was above par & the servers are super friendly
