Shandiz Mediterranean Grill & Market
Reviews
I've never written a review on any restaurant before but I felt the need to do so this time based on what I just observed and experienced today at lunch time. I just left the Shandiz restaurant an hour ago. The food was ok and some was tasty but the reason for this review is not for the food...it's for the management. I witnessed what I could consider discrimination from the owner/manager there. There were about 5-6 other tables in the place with 15 or so customers there. He walked around the restaurant to each table and talked with every single table and customer in the place except for mine. He first stopped at the table right behind me, then walked pass my table (didn’t even acknowledge me or say Hi) and went to the table in front of me to chat and laugh with them for a few minutes. Then he proceeded to go to the table across from them and then on to the other occupied tables in the place. I watched him the whole time waiting to see if he would acknowledge me or come to my table to see if everything was ok…but he never did come to me. I saw He looked my way once or twice and also passed my table again for a 2nd time as he stopped at the last table and went to the back again. He never said a word to me or acknowledged me being there. After that incident I asked for my bill and also decided I’d never be a patron to this place again. My question is… How can he visit 6 other tables in the place and purposely pass by my table twice without saying a word??? I have no idea but I don’t think that was right. I’m a paying customer just like all the rest and I felt he purposely ignored my existence there. Just for the record of my complaint (even though it shouldn’t matter) but I was the only ‘dark’ skinned person in the restaurant at the time. All other people there at the time were ‘fair’ skinned people… all but 2 of them (approx 15-16 others) were from the Mid East area. To me I felt like I was being discriminated against but no problem at all…Shandiz will never see my face or money in there again just because of that.
Let me start by saying, YUMMY! I am so happy to have found this delicious restaurant. I'm going on my 5th time in less than two weeks! The shish kabob with the rice is so flavorful and the yogurt with cucumber is so good I can't get enough of it. The service is very friendly, and every time I've gone to eat, I have not been disappointed. You have got to go there during the buffet so you may try out the different food they have on their menu.
the buffet was awful, all the foods were old and bad and they did not renew the trays. most of the trays were empty with just a little bit of old food left and the refused to renew it. There was also a piece of rubber band in my food when I confronted the manager he said it is from the vegetables. When I also complained about the buffet he said it is almost 4 and toward the end what a ridiculous excuse if you do not have enough food you just have to close the buffet and should not accept new customers it is not like I am paying a cheaper price than those customers who came earlier I am paying the same price and I should receive the same quality foods. In short, Awful buffet, bad quality food , bad quality meat and rubber band found in the food. If I could put a rating lower than 1 I would not hesitate. if anybody wants to eat trashy food this is the place to go
most of the foods on their shelves are expired, make sure to check the expiration date before pay. bought 3 can of yogurt when opened there was mold on top of the yogurt in all three cans. their Baklava is molded also most of the time which seems they never heard of expiration date and food recycling instead of selling it. Their Gormet Sabzi stew has no meat or beans, when I complaint they said we prepare it to be suitable to use by vegetarians too!! how ever there is no note on their stew saying Vegetarian food! this place has to change it's quality or shut it down.
every thing in the restaurant is disordered, it is too warm. the foods have low quality and are not fresh.
