First thing I asked for when I came to TX was brisket! TX natives took me to Rudy's and there I found my hearts desire. Plenty of space for any size family or group of friends. Big or small. Picnic tables are located inside and outside. if you are first timer like me, let the staff know and you get the "Rookie Treatment"! You pay by pound and do not forget to grab some creamed corn. Oh and do not expect a plate you get served on "To Go Paper"?
Great BBQ with excellent service and fast moving lines! This should be your standard for all BBQ. You probably will not find a more moist brisket unless you had a roast. Their St. Louis Pork Ribs are tasty and flavorful, their jalepeno sausage juicy and hot, and their cream corn is basically sweet pudding with sweet corn. You can't go wrong here where the food is plentiful and their southern hospitality is infectious. By no means be under the impression that this is the absolute best BBQ Austin has to offer. There are plenty of others around town that will surpass Rudy's. What Rudy's has done however, is made the overall experience of getting good BBQ hard to beat and by doing so has made their tasty BBQ the standard of which all others will have to be compared.

Rudy's is awesome BBQ! It is not the best in town...but it definitely is the most affordable! It is really quick and really good! They have really delicious BBQ sauce that is made in house and is great! They also have pretty rocking side dishes. The staff is very helpful and nice! you get your food quickly so you don't have to wait too long with the smell of BBQ sauce tempting you!
Only downside to this Rudy's (and perhaps other locations as well) is the lack of baked potato on the menu! I used to love getting a baked potato topped with chopped beef at another location and didn't see this on the menu here. Regardless, decent bbq for when you don't want to wait a long time or drive a good distance. They also do pre-orders for bulk as well which is great for visiting family!
