Rizzo's Restaurant

A major disappointment! The veal Parmigiana was a thick-cut piece of breaded roast beef, the spaghetti was a pasty ball of dough, the "gravy" was little more than tomato paste diluted with water and the cappuccino - colored water. It's a shame the original owners did not pass-on their recipes and quality standards to their children/grand children.
Drove an hour for a nice dinner. Had a great bottle of wine and anticipated a great dinner. Salad arrived with bread and everything appeared to be going good, then cleaned our salad plates and the 40 minute wait for our meals. We felt transparent. Other diners who came in while we were eating our salads were served their dinners and leaving when our meals arrived. During the 40' wait, the owner came by and talked top other tables to assure they were enjoying their meals with his back to us. Our meals were mediocre and nothing special, based on this experience we won't ever go back!
Consistent for 20 years (my wife says that it's been great for 40). Fettuccini with meatballs are a favorite. Tuna's been good too. Many other great dishes. And the Antipasto salad, very good. Love the place. Service is also consistent and good.
The margarita was the worst one I have EVER had. I could not taste the tequila at all. It was certainly not worth the price ... Insanely priced at $7.00 for the same sized glass my husband's Jack and Coke came in...very small glass! Other than that, the food was good and the service was great.
One of the best restaurants in the Johnstown area. I love this place!
