Philter
Reviews
Philter is the quintessential coffeehouse experience. Chris and his team brew artisanal, fair-trade coffee that is as premium as it comes -- I didn't even DRINK coffee before Philter, but I was won over with the creaminess of their manual brews. It's a perfect place to hang out for hours, which I do as a photographer when I am in editing mode. And, lastly, Chris has become so much a part of the Kennett Square community that this place truly is a hub of the life of the town during daylight hours. One of my favorite places in the world, and my daughter's, too!
This place is fantastic. My only regret is that I don't live closer otherwise I would be a regular. The service upon walking in was super-friendly and when I posed a question about my particular favorite coffee (a flat white) the owner/barista extraordinaire was happy to chat. Not only was he knowledgeable it was just a lovely exchange with someone who really cares about (and knows a lot about) coffee. All of this without the arrogance and attitude of a lot of local coffee shops I have tried. The Cortado was amazing and something I'll be having again. I also had a croissant from the case and it was fantastic. I came to Kennet Square for a dinner with friends at Talula's Table (AMAZING) and was thrilled to find Philter in the morning by chance - it's the reason I'll make the drive back to hang out for the day. LOVED IT.
I'm excited that Kennett finely has a REAL Coffee shop. I Love there!
enjoy the small hometown feel of the local coffee shop with broad reach appeal.
Great coffee shop find. Smooth and balanced soy latte. Brought my two small children and they were super nice to us. Will be back!
