Winds Cafe

The food was fairly bland. For the price, I would expected a better product. Aspects of it were good, but everything didn't mesh well together. The one plus side, this is one of the best cups of cappuccino I have had since Italy. Not bad, but definitely underwhelming.
The food was not as flavorful as it should it have been, very little spices in the lamb burger and the pumpkin lasagna dish had no fall spices at all only pumpkin. The salad was sub-par, lettuce only. It took over 45 minutes to get our lunch meal. The room was noisy and the staff seemed over worked. Never got any extra water. Won't be going there again or recommending.
One of Our Favorites - My wife and I have been going to the Winds for several years, now. It's been consistently great and is one of our favorites! On ocassion, they run out of an entree, but that happens if you want to maintain good quality and freshness. The waitstaff has always been professional and engaging. If you have an issue there, it's probably a personal one...
The Winds Cafe is perhaps the most over-rated restaurant in the Dayton area. On our recent visit we got terrible service, an unfriendly server, and terribble food. What more can I say? An hour after we ordered, three of us that ordered an entree were told they were out of it. After reordering from a VERY limited menu, our steaks were fatty and awful. Never again will I frequent this establishment. An upscale and trendy discription does not get you business when all the components of a good experience are not there.
Winds Cafe is perhaps my favorite reason to make the 45 minute drive from where I live to Yellow Springs. The service is great and the food is even better. The Salads were so great and so big that the Duck ordered by my date was hardly touched... until the next day when it was devoured only pausing for sounds like "Mmmm" and "oh my..." 27 stars out of 32.
