Council Rock Brewery
Reviews
If you are planning a cooperstown beverage trail visit, I recommend making this part of your route. For one, they are open before noon (which is when most of the other breweries open). Secondly, the quality of their beer is very good. I was there a year ago, and while it was enjoyable I didn't find it remarkable. The brewer must have improved his craft since then because a year later I was very impressed with the variety and quality of his offerings. Food is solid as well. The place looks small, but they have a room in the back that accommodated about 30 of us. Go and visit.
We had read about this place and the lady at the hotel we stayed at recommended it.. really good food ,fair prices ,nice down home atmosphere. the pesto garlic fries are a must have starter!!
Stopped in here for dinner after visiting baseball hall of fame. What an awesome place. Beer was great (more on that later), food was excellent, and the staff was awesome. Only had 2 pints but two of the best beers I've ever had. First one was the honey wheat. It was so delicious. Second was the California lager also very good. Liked the honey wheat so much got a growler to go.
Great little brewery with a fun menu. We were in Cooperstown again for our Hall of Fame weekend and wanted to find somewhere cheap, yummy, and easy. Council Rock provided all three things. The beer was astoundingly fresh and delicious. We ate traditional beer hall food--right next to the kitchen, but that wasn't the worst thing ever. Highly recommended--there's a room with large tables for groups in the back!
Quaint little restaurant. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful presentation of food. And most importantly --- the food was delicious The best French onion soup I ever had.
