Moxie
Reviews
I have been to Moxie grille several times in the past and I have just been in love with the place. All of the servers are wonderful, the atmosphere is just perfect, very nice and relaxing and the food has been very good as well. I was just there recently and was extremely disappointed with my salad which was not much more than mostly iceberg lettuce and some mushed beets and a sprinkle of goat cheese for $12. Also I asked for shrimp on top and had to pay $14 for a skewer of 3 shrimp which came flavorless and cool for putting on top. This made for a $26 salad. I am very bothered because if you run a nice establishment please serve some artisan salad with fresh items and well prepared meals. I don't know when I will go back. I can make a much nicer dinner salad at home and have had much better food there. Not sure what is going on but it would be nice to see things turn around.
went to Moxie for a girls night out. With a total of 15 of us i was anticipating a great night but moxie had other plans for us. First we were only allowed to order off a modified menu because our group was too large. Then after ordering drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert, we were asked to leave because they needed the table. We would have stayed longer but the waitress stopped asking us if we would like to order more drinks. Very disgusted with this place. there are many more restaurants in the Binghmaton area with the same quality of food the would never kick a group out of this size. The average bill per person was $70 so i'm not sure why the manager was in such a hurry to kick us out. I will never go back to this place and i would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family. Very disappointed.
This was the first visit and I think I'm stuck. It's a great restaurant in a great location, and the service is superb. One should also note its very well priced but I guess you have to pay for quality. $$$$
Wonderful food and great blue moxies
I just got back from Moxie. The food is good but not great. The same entree that you can get anywhere else. I ordered the stuff mushroom cap, French onion soup and Clam chowder, and two were good except for the onion soup that, obviously, tasted like burnt sugar, it was over caramelized. My fiance ordered the Kobe beef (Moxie carries Score 7 Kobe beef) and it was a more overcooked that he had order, Kobe beef CANNOT be anymore cooked than medium well otherwise you'd defeat its whole purpose of it, you'd cook out the marbling that its famous for. Since I love brick oven pizza and veggies I ordered the greek pizza, it was under seasoned and barely any toppings. I do admit that this is a great place for a quick drink. There's a great wine list, beers and mix cocktails. I do love their desserts, few but great, loved the chocolate cake and the coconut custard pie. I have dined all over the world and being residents of NYC, Philadelphia, (and now temporarily upstate NY) I really think that Moxie is average and probably one that would fail in NYC. For steaks I think that the best bet would be to save your money for Number5 and even the Texas roadhouse.
