Surprisingly good food, and nice decor. It's usually not too busy to get a table either. We walked in once on a Saturday night and seated a party of 8 right away. Binghamton could use more great places like this.
The food was decent and wasn't terribly expensive. I had the ribs, sweet potato fries, and a salad, all of which was enjoyable. The salad and rib portions could have been a little bigger for the price but I was satisfied when leaving. The wait time for our food was about 20 minutes even with the rest of the restaurant being pretty busy. I felt the service was pretty good and would consider going back in the future.
The wood fired grilled food is a nice (and tasty) change of pace. The broad staircase you walk down when you first get in makes it look like you're going into a theater or ball room, but as the room opens up it looks more like hunting lodge. Interesting decor and decent food. Definitely worth trying out.
Where do I begin? We ordered 4 appetizers to split: maize fritters, frickles (fried pickles), egg rolls and the rib sampler. The rib sampler came with 4 barbecue sauces, which was cool, except it only came with FOUR RIBS. It's $8.95, so some quick math tells you I paid $2.25 per rib, is that a joke? They were rubbery as all getout, tough to get off the bone. 2 of the sauces were terrible, 2 were good. The egg rolls, 2 standard sized egg rolls like you would find at a chinese place, $8. The corn fritters had a good amount but were undercooked and generally not good, and the fried pickles were alright. The total for our meal, along with 2 sodas, came to over $40. The sad part is, after walking into the place to pick up my food, I realized it's much bigger than it seemed from the outside and I like the feel of it. If only the food wasn't awful and ridiculously priced, I'd love to go back.
Been here 3 times. All good stuff. Food is great... atmosphere is great. This place is a lot larger than it seems from the outside and sports a nice bar with a few TVs everywhere for the big game. Service was fast on a Friday night with a lot of other folks around us. This is one of the top 3 places in downtown binghamton to eat. There is no handicap access which is probably why I can't throw down 5 stars... a flight of 20+ stairs is the only way into this place. Otherwise, good times, good food. I'm a big fan of the baked beans and pulled pork empanadas... but everything else I've tried has been great to. Not necessarily the cheapest joint in town. Air hockey, Foosball, arcade and pool table.
