Madsen's Bowling & Billiard

I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or what the deal was, but the woman and man running the cash registers were nothing short of nightmares. We had to wait around 45 minutes to finally get a lane as they were very busy, which was fine, but they did not exactly take kindly to us playing five games when it "our turn" to bowl. Five minutes after we had finished, we were approached at our table to kindly pay our tabs. We blew this off as we were respectable, paying customers and tried to finish our drinks, but were again approached to leave as we were "holding up other games." Also, I'm not sure if this place is under new management or what, but go ahead and disregard the "Saturday-red pin night" (get a strike when the red pin is placed in front, win a free game) signs; we had three of these and they didn't honor any of them. I was really disappointed and will definitely choose another bowling alley to give my money to in the future.
We've been going here for years with friends and family and have been bowling on their league nights for the last couple years. It's always a blast. Everyone, including the wait staff has always taken very good care of us. Harvey, behind the bowling counter and Ben, behind the bar have always been friendly and attentive to everyone in our group. Both of these guys have great personalities and have a good time taking care of people. The atmosphere is generally busy so don't get butt-hurt if any of the staff is brief with you - they have lots of customers to take care of and the object of any business is to make money. I've seen it said by others on here that they felt like they were ripped off or overcharged for something. Hey, if you doubt what you are being charged for anything, question them. I'm sure they will be happy to itemize everything you are being charged for and help you add it all up. Madsen's gives away lots of prizes too, so make sure you hold that against them. This place rocks!
Great place to bowl with your friends and family. Their muchies platter, combined with a pitcher of Shocktop, makes for good time while knocking down the pins.
02/02/2013. Bad place to go to shoot pool. Harvey an employer there is always ripping us off. We went to play pool there. Charged us $8 hourly for a person when the charge should be only $4 hourly. One time we brought in a coupon good for an hour game of pool but did not specify what day it was good for nor did it specify if it would be $8 or $4 so the guy took off $4 off from the coupon since we went on a $8 hourly day to play pool. We had complained to the 2nd owner and he told us his exact words "at least he's bring us business". Everyone had problems with that guy especially when he rips a ton of people off. The guy does not take his job seriously, takes his time behind the counter. We go there alot and some of the employees there including the owner always try to keep us happy and coming back again by giving free drink or an hour of free pool just because one person is so greedy.
I want to give Madsen's a big Hoorah for treating my nephew so well. We stopped in to play some pool and they not only let him use his Military discount on the stick rental/pool but we just had an great over-all experience. It will be one of those memories that I will be able to recall while he serves his tour over-seas, until he comes back home safe and sound.
