Choppers
Reviews

I've been traveling to Big Sky since the early 70's. My family and I used to enjoy eating at Choppers, but now we eat there as a last resource. Service is poor, food not great, menu boring.

Very good food, very satisfied. Mountain Village doesn't have the most variety for dining, and choppers is the best family option. They have a solid burgers-plus menu, a very good selection of drafts, a full bar and the best wine selection in town. The food was done very nicely - the burgers are done just right, my steak was perfect, and the southwestern soup was unique and delicious. Decor - yeah, whatever, it's okay. The service varies - this is a town that goes from very few visitors to very many quickly - so you might have a wait sometimes. Chat with the locals. Don't expect the kind of kowtowing you get in Summit County or Vail. Nice folks.

The ambience is nice. Definetly a plus on Thursdays, with live music. But food is no good. I asked for a meatloaf that just tasted like boiled meat. Everything else, relatively cheap.

Unbearably incompetent staff. We asked for a table, Carter party of 10, and sat at the bar. About 45 minutes later a hostess came through the bar asking for Capone party of 10. We stopped the hostess and asked her "did you mean Carter". She gave a snarky reply "no, its for Capone". Another 15 minutes passed and we asked where we were on the list. The manager told us we were removed because we didn't respond when the hostess called are name. We explained the mix up, and the manager responded with an unsympathetic "it's not our fault you didn't respond as if he didn't understand or believe us. Another 15 minutes and we got a table, another 20 minutes and we got a table, another 45 minutes and we got food, or what was supposed to be food. A cheese steak came with meat half raw and half frozen. We asked to see the manager, but he was unwilling to face the situation, and sent the waitress back to let us know he couldn't stop by. This place has terrible food all around and an exceptionally unprofessional staff that appears to all be on their first day, including the GM. They don't even try. Oh yeah, when paying our tab, we had to wait an extra ten minutes because there computer system crashed. There are lots of good to fair restraints in the area, so it is amazing this place survives. I guess the they can eke out a business mis-serving unwary tourists during peak season. I will never go back.

No service. We've been sitting for 30 minutes now and no one has stopped by our table.
