Petra Cafe

The place is dirty. I didn't get the potatoes or tomatoes with my kofta. The kofta was partly over cooked and tasted different than I am used to - no hint of allspice or cinnamon. Maybe not even cardamom. The Lebanese tea is made with drink machine lemonade - more cutting corners. I waited 10-15 min to get my check, although i was the only one there at 7pm. The rice was partly gummy. Plus side: The salad was really good. The baba ghanouj was decent. The yogurt sauce was good. I have no idea what the high rating at this place is about. They must have killer lunches. I will not be going back regardless. This was a bad experience. I just wish aladdin had kofta.
My first visit to Petra Cafe was on slow Sunday evening. The service was excellent, the food was delicious I plan on dining often in the future.
love their sauce on gyros
Visited Petra Cafe on Friday night. Was wonderful. We sat on the back deck which was very peaceful, comfortable and nice. Great outdoor seating. The water fountain was a nice touch. The service and the food were excellent. They had belly dancing inside which was nice to have something different. I'm definitely going back soon.
We stopped in at this wonderful Mediterranean/Lebanese restaurant for lunch on our way to Dallas TX. We are vegetarians so we were looking for something that would offer us something more interesting that a bunch of meat free carbs. I was amazed to find these flavors in Jackson, the quality that we experienced here was amazing! After we ate I was impressed. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff was great, the food rivaled food I have eaten in San Francisco, Portland or Dallas. If you like Mediterranean, this restaurant is a experience you won't want to pass up. Also, be sure to try the Lebanese iced tea and take Leo up on a tour of his shop in the back. If you are a local and want to start preparing some of these dishes on your own Leo will keep your pantry stocked with very reasonably priced staples for your kitchen imported from directly from Jerusalem.
