I've never had a problem with a Caribou Coffee place until now. My wife and I went there yesterday and picked up 2 breakfast sandwiches and a pumpkin chai-latte. First thing when ordering the sandwiches was, "could you please cut them in half," and the response was, "no", "but we can give you a knife so you can." Really, they couldn't cut our sandwiches?? That was one thing, the other thing was when we drove off, the sandwiches were a mess and the pumpkin chi-latte was just a pumpkin latte. One of the reasons I go to Caribou is for their Chai-teas. For some reason, their chi has a lot more spice to it and I thought with the pumpkin it would be even better, but there was no Chai. in it. Also, there was no mixing at all to the drink, once I got down to 1/4 of the drink it was pure syrup, enough to gag on. I spent close to $15 for non-gourmet sandwiches, a bad drink, and crappy service. If I wanted this, I'd go to McDonald's.
The ice: drink ratio in their iced coffee is about 99:1. Rip off.
I have only visited this location a handful of times, but I have been consistently impressed by the service I have received. Every employee I have encountered has been very personable and willing to serve me to the best of their ability. It's one thing to be disingenuously polite for the sake of following corporate policies, but actually showing enthusiasm and kindness is what sets this particular shop apart from the rest.
Wish they hadn't stop serving blackberry/white chocolate scones!
