Diamonds Steak & Seafood
Reviews
I went to Diamonds based on reviews and found this restaurant to be over rated. As a Seafood & Steak joint and based on pricing, I was expecting an upper mid-level class restaurant. Atmosphere: 1/5 Cheap diner style tables on the floor. Unavoidable amount of fruit flies; flying into your food. Poorly decorated; carpet on the walls. Booths are flimsy; so as the person behind you gets in, out, laughs, or adjusts, you get knocked around. The service was not great, but not horrible. The waitress did not mention the special or the survey at the end of the meal. She did mention it to the other tables though. (This was a bit odd.). Additionally, the bill was brought in the middle of dessert. No one had asked for it, and clearly we were not finished with our meal. (she still got her 20% although not earned.) Food: 2/5 I got the 9oz Filet Mignon ordered medium rare. It came out medium well. Very disappointing as a "Steak & Seafood" restaurant. The outside surface was seasoned well, but the flavor did not go all the way through. The redskin potato sides were decent, but it would have been nice if there were seared on the outside making them a little crispy. The carrot cake was not special at all!! It lacked finesse. It was a large rectangle piece with an ungodly amount of frosting on top. I will not be going back. The overall feeling I got from the place was closer to a Ponderosa or Sizzler. There are better places to visit in Novi, Royal Oak & Detroit.
After an almost 1 hour wait......I was very disappointed! Service was barely acceptable. Had to ask 2 other employees for assistance. The amount of food was disappointing...unless you're a 2 or 3 year old! Would I go back....no. Thank goodness we were with friends and could enjoy their company!
food was good, but overpriced. we were told a 25-30 min wait upon arrival, we were not seated for an hour +15 minutes. waiter was slow, we ended up being there 3 hours! the martinis were a little over 1/2 full in the glass and $12 dollars each. Consider other places where you get a better value without wasting your whole night.
One of my favorites in Howell. Can be a little loud but the food is above average and reasonably priced
The steaks are great but the carot cake makes this place my favorite!!
