Zehnder's Chef's Cafe

I've been there with my family. The food have this home made feel... because I think I can cook better chicken at home. But the price is extraordinary. My kids didn't want to finish their plates. I didn't want to finish my plate... I don't know how they claim to be world famous chicken.
I am from Kentucky and I couldn't wait to eat this chicken dinner. They posted that Zehnder's had the best chicken dinner in the world. I went with 3 other girls and we thought the chicken had no taste whatsoever. We thought it was rolled in corn meal. They placed the ALL PURPOSE seasoning on the table with the salt and pepper. The chicken has nothing on it ...no salt no pepper, it is very bland. Still ....Zehnder's chicken has NOTHING on the Colonel. Kentucky Fried Chicken is the best chicken in the WORLD!!! :) However, Frankenmuth is a wonderful town and we had a blast! We can't wait to go back. The shopping is wonderful and so are the employees at Abby's on Main Street. Abby's is a great store with awesome sale and beautiful merchandise!!!! Bronner's Rocks as well!!!!
Average food, extraordinary price. 70 usd for 3 plates!
Honestly...whoever says their chicken is good is a fool
We waited in line for 45 minutes to be seated so we missed the luncheon. This restaurant has a very limited selection of food in it's menu. We ordered the all you can eat chicken dinner. The coleslaw was bitter and runny. The mashed potatoes were ok but the gravy was very bland. I must say the garlic bread and cheese spread were very good. Eventually we were served their "World famous chicken" which consisted of 1/2 a chicken for two people. The chicken was abosolutely terrible! It's crust was soggy and the flesh was dry. It was all I could do to finish the thigh I started eating. Needless to say we were not at all satisfied with our dining experience. For $18.95 per person I expected the food to be palatable. If you are in the Frankenmuth area and want good food and a great value do yourself a favor and skip Zehnders and try the Exit Restaurant adjacent the Birch Run exit off of I-75
