Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus & Grill

So if I say to you, "Let's go to the Black Forest Brew Haus.", would you think that I was talking about a German restaurant? Sounds like a German place to me. IT IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT A GERMAN RESTAURANT. They have a completely American and/or Americanized menu. I wish we would have done more research before coming here but the name is VERY misleading. We were too hungry and tired to go elsewhere so we did eat here. The food was OK. Beer was good. Service was OK. Just don't go here thinking you're going to be eating German food.
Despite many memorable trips to Frankenmuth, my wife and I always seemed to pass by Sullivan's. We have always been drawn to the stunning exterior, but never quite made plans to stop by for a meal. On our way back to Canada, we decided to finally stop in for lunch and end this curiosity once and for all. The service was speedy, the local beer menu was immense and the food was delicious. I devoured the sausage sampler brought to you by Kern's and my wife dined on a BLT with homemade chips. Based on our favourable experience, we will be stopping by for dinner during our next outing to Frankenmuth.
We ate here over the weekend. Not to many patrons and the service was sufficient. But unfortunately I can only give 1 star. The food was okay but not for the price we where charged, The atmosphere felt more like a run down hotel restaurant, and when we paid they authorized two transactions for the same amount. When i contacted the restaurant they said my credit card company held double the amount in case I had a open tab. I then contacted my financial institution about said hold. They told me that was not the case that there where two different charges and they had no policy to put a hold on any amount on dining. That it was the restaurant. I was asked to speak to a manger who never called me back. We ended up paying over 80 dollars for two kids meals a salad and sandwich. My finical institution took care of it and will be disputing the charge.
Kinda disappointed by this place, especially after visiting the Frankenmuth Brewery. Not bad, and a good beer selection... but if it wasn't for Bronner's this place would be empty.
Potato skins were excellent, pizza was good too. Had the beer flight which was excellent. Decor is a tad dated but overall we enjoyed the service and beer.
