Used to be a great club for electronic and industrial music, one of only a few in Michigan. Now they barely ever get talent in, and it has mostly turned into a gay bar with house DJ's that sound like they have been mixing for just a few months. Also, the security has historically been rude and heavy-handed. Not sure what happened to Necto, but it has definitely seen better days. There are much better clubs in metro Detroit now. I will occasionally venture back if they bring in a particular artist I want to see, but other than that, a casual night out to Necto is typically going to disappoint.
is this place really still open? wow I went here about 6 months ago and was treated like a dog. Do yourself a favor and don't ever go here.
Trash place. They added a larger tip than I had given them under my credit card. Will not go here again.
Necto is exciting if you're under age with a fake ID or if you just turned 18 and have never been to a club. But once you've gone to other places and done other things, you realize how truly whack the place is. Each night has different "themes" but if you ask me, every night should be called "creeper night". It is creeper city in there! It's an 18 and up club yet you have 35 yr old hairy drunk men everywhere trying to grab on you. If you want to try and avoid creepers, go on Thursday when there are less of them...but chances are you will still get pulled aside and asked to dance by someone twice your age. Beware.
Hate this place. Very bad service and one of their guys pick up my drink in-front of me and it was half full. Their staff are pushing me when I walked next them. Plus when you go out side the door and you already paid you can't get in again unless you pay again.
