We were here when they fist opened and now in Dec. 2013 , there has been big improvements in both service and foods! GREAT steaks! If you are a meat eating person then here is one of the BEST around places to get it! We had the 1lb. rib eye and I've had the 24oz. porterhouse LOVED these steaks! Wonderful atmosphere. This is a must vist location especially if passing through prices are good for the portions. Take care...

Diana is an excellent server. The food was very good and plentiful.. The menu is somewhat limited. It's not the place to go if you are a vegetarian.

I have to agree restaurant looks nice...and thats about it.......food is very low scale. Of course if you liked school hot lunch when you were a kid you will love what they have to offer, frozen processed canned food....nothing fresh. Service like I said what service, well first of all its difficult to figure out who works here and who is dining here. The waitress did not know the menu and got our orders wrong, maybe a note pad and pen would have helped her. The prices were ridiculous dont know if they are trying to make all there money of the tourist...

I live in the area but work in South Carolina, so I hadn't had a chance to visit until the July 4th holiday. Boy, what a travesty. I suppose the "special" menu they handed us (one page, burgers NINE BUCKS) was because of the activities outside, but my wife and I just looked at each other, got up, and got out. We went across the street to the Scootic Inn and had a good meal. Sorry, that's the only chance they get for me. I'll never go back to Pelletier's.

This is a newly renovated restaurant (beautifully done but VERY LOUD) by some family on some reality show about loggers. I was brought here by some friends who have a house in Millinocket. All their dishes have cutesy logging-themed names. Our waitress could not tell me where the beer on the menu was from. Thanks to my phone, turns out they had Casco Bay's Katahdin Red and Atlantic Brewing Company's Maine Logger Lager, among the other usual suspects like Sam Adams, Moosehead (it IS Maine!) and all the macros. Her definition of them was "The Red's one of those strong beers and the Logger Lager is more like a normal beer". Turns out the Red's 5.4% ABV, so, yeah, I guess that's stronger than your average macro lager. She was very nice, but clearly nobody cares about beer or waitress training on beer in the restaurant, or even bothering to help the waitresses remember where the beers come from. Apologies to both Casco Bay and Atlantic Brewing, the beers were both very tasty. We enjoyed them, although the carbonation level seemed a bit low to me. As we were a large party, we got three appetizers to split: the nachos were those tri-colored tortilla chips and were not quite stale. The toppings were absolutely flavorless and the salsa tasted like some of those nastier jarred brands. Not worth eating. The mozzarella sticks were quite generously sized, we split 4 of them among 8 people. They were tasty, but honestly, it's pretty hard to mess up breaded and fried cheese. We also got their version of the ubiquitous Quebecois dish poutine. They had a punny logging-themed name for it. French fries with gravy and cheese. They were decent, although they were bagged and frozen fries. Why not just chop the potatoes? Is it that much work for a trained chef? I mean, it's not that hard for me and I would rate my knife skills at the low end of average. The gravy was a bit too salty. Burgers seemed to be the thing to get there. They had seafood and pasta dishes, but it looked like a burger joint. They were advertised as 8 oz of fine chopped sirloin. This may be true, but my medium burger was well done with char and all, and the well done burgers across the table were burnt charcoal disks, much to the disappointment of one of teenagers at the table. The burgers were tiny, thin, and dwarfed by the rather tasteless buns. Their size would be fine, as I don't really love anything but exceptional burgers, but these were not even decent burgers. The mushrooms on mine were the food service canned and marinated variety. The Swiss cheese was good, but again... hard to mess up cheese. Instead of fries, since we'd just had the poutine, I ordered the veggie, which was green beans. They were freezer burnt and soggy. Really? In July you can't find fresh beans somewhere nearby? These weren't really fit to be in soup, let alone served as a side dish. The lettuce and tomato on the burger were super bland and looked like mid-winter hot-house stuff. Again... it's the middle of July... the farmers are getting their first crops in... get some fresh food! Is this THAT tricky of a concept? I wish the owners had put the time into the food that they put into the renovations. It'll be a long time before I have an opportunity to return to Millinocket, and I can assure you I won't be wasting another meal at this place.
