From the outside, the place looks like a little darkly-lit greasy spoon kind of place. Do not be deceived. Angelos does great medium-thick crust pizza. And they do green pizza (i.e., pizza with pesto sauce instead of tomato sauce), which seems to be uncommon this side of the Mississippi. The burgers are good but their fries are awesome. And the two-for-the-price-of-one pasta specials on Wednesday nights are tasty, big portions, and a steal at the price. Get the chicken and broccoli alfredo - you won't be sorry. I don't care for their seating - I find it uncomfortable so I usually order take-out.
Not many choices for food in this town and this is definitely the best choice for pizza. Food was excellent. We ordered two large specialty pizzas that were cooked to perfection. Pizza is cooked in a convection oven that is a lot better than the greasy pan pizza most places make. It's not brick oven but the sauce and toppings add flavor to quench your appetite. Good choice of beer and okay decor. Service was excellent. Our waitress Katie was super attentive, friendly and courteous. Hours are odd as they close during lunch and also close at nine pm. I would visit this place again with family and friends. Local park ranger Zak also recommended this place to us, indicating it's a local fav.
Best pizza around. Try the specialty pizzas. Also surprised how great hamburger and other offerings are. Owners are friendly and usually in the shop working
Not especially fancy as a dine-in restaurant, but it's the best pizza place in the area.
Angelo's Pizza Grille has continued to evolve over the last several years. Gene, the owner, has added the best breakfast in Millinocket and expanded his menu. Lately his lobster roll with 4-ounces of lobster meat has been a big hit and it is reasonably priced. On Friday and Saturday nights he now has a 14-oz. charbroiled ribeye steak on his menu. And some of the best gourmet pizza in the state of Maine. The Artemis is probably the best. Known by locals as the best food in downtown Millinocket.
