Best Food around Bethel/Sunday River. Big portions of delicious British Pub-inspired food minus the football hooliganism. Fred makes a hell of a manhattan, too.
Great people assume food .If you like beer you can't beat this place . a warm pub feeling.
Just spent a few days/nights at the inn and had multiple meals at the restaurant. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND both for anyone who appreciates the unique. Every room in the inn is decorated differently, and all have awesome bedding - huge comfortable pillows and comforters. The pub is as warm and cozy as any pub in England and the food is outstanding. Fred and Cindy and the bartender Mike make you feel welcome and happy to be there. I hated to leave!
I like going here for their beer, and the fish and chips. Great selection of beer. Good food, service and atmosphere. Food can get pricey but is worth it. All you can eat fish and chips on Thursdays, not really a bargin because the first serving is HUGE. Ive only ever eaten part of the first serving. Well worth it thou for the best fish and chips around.
Short and Sweet: New ownership sucks. Never had such HORRENDUS service in my lifetime, avoid this place! The Long Story: We made reservations over a month in advance for a party of 16, and waited over 40 minutes upon arrival for everyone to even be seated. It seemed as though they tried to cram a group in before us to make an extra buck, and We didn't get served until TWO HOURS LATER...and we had to ask to speak to the manager. Not once did the people have the courtesy to explain what had happened, and all we got was a bunch of BS about how busy they were. The food was good, but the new ownership sucks. They were understaffed, unprepared, and made no attempts to rectify the situation. We didn't receive any complementary drinks or anything. The bar tender was doubling as our waiter, and we received nothing but attitude from him (he had no problem saying the F-Word in front of my kids). Never have I had such horrible service, AVOID the Jolly Drayman Pub in Bethel, ME at all costs!
