i had been expecting that due to unrestrained pollution and the way the agricultural industry has lobbied, petitioned and been approved by the USDA to raise and process meats in the United States that leaving this country was the only option for routinely finding a steak or any meat with flavor and texture reminiscent of what grilling was like before the '80's but since i had a weird day and was in the mood for a beer i decided to treat my friend to dinner and as i was already attune to spending in excess of $100 for 2 people for fine dining in the area i ok'ed giving the black diamond a try. we got there a little after 8p.m. and went all out by ordering appetizers and opting to surf 'n turf our steaks. i stayed with wanting a beer and asked for a PBR which came in a 16 oz. can with a PBR glass, she daringly opted for a chocolate flavored beer that came in a 22 oz. bottle and finished it in good time without reluctance. she enjoyed her french onion soup and my fish chowder was very thick and creamy. she ordered whole fried clams with a 12 oz. prime rib and I chose fried scallops to go with a 30 oz. medium rare sirloin. her clams were fat, individually breaded and unbelievably sweet and juicy. her steak, though void of juice, was tender and pink and served with au jus. my steak didn't bleed out on the plate but it was beautifully red thruout, tender enough to pull apart and had a subtle charcoal crust and the scallops were nicely colored, unbreaded and succulent. neither of us could finish our meals so I was anxious to see how the mashed garlic potatos and remainder of my steak would fare as a leftover. they ran out of creme broulee cheesecake so my friend selected the brownie sundae which was generously sized and surprised us with it's candied walnuts. the next night i pulled my styrofoam plated meal from the fridge and it still surpassed any franchised steak I had ever eaten and the potatos were still a pleasure. i am already looking forward to going back in a few months to test this restaurant's ability to reliably put out an impressively gratifying meal. we also highly recommend the clam shack in the parking lot of a small oxford, maine plaza and the ss milton in bethel, maine (another $100 for two, full course meal restaurant)

Delicious Prime Rib Steak, Get Stephanie as a Server and a you can't go wrong! Two Olive Grey Goose was wonderful. Bathrooms were clean and unisex. The moose on the wall doesn't talk to you while you eat. 4.2 stars out of five.
