Bartlett Pear Inn
Reviews

Stayed two nights for my birthday in May. Everything was amazing! Right down to the cream for my tea at breakfast! The daily breakfast was classic recipes elevated to a five star status! The hospitality was charming and comforting. Jordan and Alice are so helpful and sweat. This might be my new traveling home base! Love the Eastern Shore!

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night but my mother and I arrived early that day to get ready at the Inn. Jordan and Alice went above and beyond to make our day extra special. They are two amazing people with an amazing restaurant and Inn. My husband, mother and I were blown away. The food is always outstanding and the service is first class. Thank you Jordan and Alice for putting the icing on our wedding cake/day. - Gillian and Matt

Excellent chef and service. Would recomend this without reservation.

We recently had the most amazing meal at Bartlett Pear during restaurant week. It was truly a glutinous experience. I wanted to stop eating, but each course was so enticing that I could not stop. I had sweet oysters, beef bourguignon, & the individual chocolate soufflé. My wife had the aesthetically and gastronomically delectable goat cheese caesar, the salmon, and the Bartlett Pear Tart. It was all magnificent, but a few things stood out. 1.) The Wine List. My wife is pregnant so I was going to order wine by the glass, but with such a pretty little bottle of Cahors Malbec for just $20 who can resist? Consistently across the wine list, there are any number of well chosen well priced bottles that will not run up the check, including a very nice Cotes Du Rhone red and a very well priced American Riesling. 2) The Service. Restaurants where you get to spend time with both the chef and his wife are rare enough, but restaurants where the hostess opens the door before you can as you enter are all but unheard of. Mason’s across the street could take a few notes on how to treat customers, particularly those of us without trust funds. 3) The Camaraderie In The Cozy Barroom. Admittedly, not my first experience with Bartlett’s bar, but every time I am there whether having a meal by the fireplace or having a drink with friends or coworkers, there is always easy conversation occurring between people who have never met one another. This week it was a very nice couple from DC (who had the table prepared Dover Sole, very impressive.). Certainly, there are tables in the dining room with quiet ambiance, but sometimes it is nice to have dinner amongst congenial friendly faces. Rumor had it, a food critic from a major newspaper was in town. Hopefully, his dining experience was half as nice as ours.

Have tried almost all the restaurants in town. This is for sure # 1. And there's also a little bar with a more limited menu if you don't want such an elegant white-tablecloth sort of evening. And the location is perfect.
