So it has been some time since I wrote a very negative review for this place. Even though I said that I would never go back nor recommend this place to anybody, I must admit that we gave it another chance and have been back many, many times since, . We have come to love this place. We go there at least once A week and we get great service and great food every time. The place has been renovated and it's absolutely beautiful. Please disregard my first review, because that night must have been an exception to the rule..Everything at the Ye Olde Tavern is absolute top notch!!!
The BEST fish and chips I have ever had in 56 years! The fish was fresh and the coating was perfect! Not greasy or oily. Simply the best! Nice place and friendly people too...
We, a party of 6, came in on Thursday night for the prime rib special, which is only served on Thursdays. We arrived around 6 PM. We gave the server our drink orders and also an order for onion rings and boneless chicken wings. We got our drinks pretty fast, even if the server did bring my husband the wrong beer (that happened twice). When we put our dinner order in, around 6:30, we were told that they only had one piece of prime rib left. Excuse me! At 6.30 you're out the dinner special? REALLY??? Oh well, we then ordered other foods. At around 7.00 we finally got our onion rings and chicken wings. At 7.30 we got our salads and FINALLY at about 7.45 we got our dinners. The food was so, so. The service was terrible and the server had a sour look on her face and a chip on her shoulder all night long. I will not go there again nor will I recommend the place to anybody else.
