If you find yourself in Goodland, KS you must go to Butterfly Cafe! What a hidden gem! Carlotta and her staff are the friendliest folks you can meet. The food is amazingly good. From scratch comfort food.
What a great find! We're so glad we took the time to locate this place! There is very little signage for this gem of a local eats spot. We used the exhaust fan on the roof to spot this place from outside the terminal and it was such good food and very reasonable prices. Home made biscuits and I'm sure made from scratch gravy. The hash browns were not greasy and even the toast was arranged in a pinwheel. If you are ever in Goodland, Kansas and want a good, home cooked breakfast or lunch, make the trip to the airport and you'll be rewarded!
Located out in the airport, this is a gem of a cafe for breakfast. I won't go so far to say that it's amazing, but it's such a great value (and they serve fruit with many of the breakfast options) that it's hard to pass up. Nothing beats sitting down to a Henry Special (priced below $4 I believe) and watching the occasional plane come in for a landing. If only there were fighter pilots to add to the atmosphere, it would be perfect. The butterfly only does breakfast and lunch, so get there early.
I have heard the Butterfly Cafe has the best pies. I live in Indianapolis and we have heard of the Butterfly Cafe.
