Houlihan's
Reviews
On 29 December 2014, around 12 noon, I made the right turn off Ludwig Drive, Fairview Heights (in front of Houlihan’s). There was a pothole there which I hit. The pothole was 8“-12” deep, 10”-12” in diameter. After contact with St. Clair County and the city of Fairview Heights it was determined property was leased to Houlihan's. Hitting the pothole damaged my front-right tire. I had to order a new tire and have car realigned the following day. Doing this required me to take three hours out of my day (paid leave). I have spoke with Katlyn (?) there at the FVH Houlihan’s about this issue, seeking some sort of reimbursement for the repair work and my paid leave (on/about 6 January). I did not receive a call back from Katlyn by last Tuesday (13 January) so I left her a message (she was due back at work Wednesday, 14 January). As of 19 January, I have never received a call-back to discuss this issue so I worked issue to Houlihan's main office in West County. I was contacted by Amy Arthur, Regional Operations Director the same day. She stated she would contact the city (Fairview Heights). I only rec'd one more email form her (3 February). I have emailed her twice since, with no reply. The pothole has since been filled with rocks, and later repaired. This is shitty service. Even if one does not have the answers, they at least acknowledge the person. This is the worst customer service I have seen in over 50 years. Sad. And here I was, going to Houlihan's for drinks and this happened. Needless to say, neither my family or my friends or I will return to any Houlihan's. They have lost me for life. They suck and that's sad. There are other great places in the area who do provide great cusotmer service (Applebee's, Olive Garden, Joe's Crab Shack, and Friday's). Peace.
Went for my birthday. Got a chicken and bacon sandwich, it was very good> I also got a bowl of potato soup and it was good. My husband got a hamburger and was fixed just right. We did enjoy our meal there even though the service was a bit slow.
Terrible food and very bad service. Food was not well prepared, they forgot to bring us drinks, plus, my medium burger was dripping with blood. The manager was nice and brought drinks over after noticing our server had forgotten about us. She also replaced the burger with the avocado rolls, which were deep fried and felt like they were just dug up from the freezer. Overpriced food and bad service!
I walked in on a Sunday around 7 pm. I went straight to the bar, where the bartender immediately greeted me and took my drink order (shock top). He poured it well and it was ginormous and tasty. The bartender then let me know the happy hour appetizer specials which enticed me to buy one. I ordered the chicken avocado egg rolls. Before ordering I asked him straight up if they were delivered frozen from their distributer and they just microwaved them. He laughed and said no, that everything was cooked fresh. I said okay and ordered it. There was only three of them, but they were great and obviously cooked there (as opposed to Chili's fare). I order a chicken wrap for dinner because I thought their addition of pecans sounded interesting and tasty. I also got a smithwicks with dinner; both shock top and smithwicks were on tap (impressive) and they were both poured well and tasted like they should. The wrap was just okay, hence the four stars. While I ate I asked the bartender questions about the area and he was friendly and responsive. My bill ended up being around $32, which I think was a little steep for what I got (two beers, a small appetizer (happy hour) and a small entree), but not too bad. The service (ie the bartender) was what made my dinner good; he was very good at his job, give him a raise!
My experience with the general manager,Heather, was not a good one. She was extremely rude and treated like a criminal. I work for a hotel in the area, in which they reached out to us to provide guests with discount cards for dinning. They provide hotel employees with a free app. for sending them over. Upon trying to use the free appetizer vouchers THEY provided with her name on it, Heather interrogated me about it. Asking me harshly: where I got it? and why was her name on it? who my gm was etc. In front of other customers and even a guest at my hotel. I was extremely embarrassed. If it wasn't for sending guests their I wouldn't affiliate with them. She needs to learn some manners when it comes to customer service from their manager,Terrace. Just because she is leaving this location doesn't give her a free pass to be rude!
