Me and my dad wanted to try this out around August of 2014. My dad agreed we'd go here for our lunch, but as we walked in and sat ourselves down no one came to greet us. We heard two people talking who I presumed to be employees who didn't bother to help me or my dad at all. We're also not impressed with the fact they don't say if your lunch meals come with something else or not besides the main course. Some Mexican places give you rice and beans with your burritos or tacos.. We sat down for 10 minutes and got up and left. No one bothered to help us at all and Eric's lost two customers. We went to a way better place with way better customer service than this crap hole. I also decided to try their biscuits and gravy via NowTheyDeliver, a place that delivers to your home. I ordered that and the gravy they smother the biscuits in is NOT country gravy. I've yet to try their actual Mexican or American food, and may give it a shot next.. I give this place a 1 star for now. I'll update it when/if I try anything more.

i live about half a block away from erics and never really gave it any thought but today my fiance and i went to try it out. When we first walked in there no one was there and i was a little worried i made a horrible mistake, but i sat down anyway and decided that if it was bad at least i would know. the waitress was kind and helpful dispite also working the bar (apparently theres a bar attached! i did not realize till after i left or i would have gotten a drink) i ordered chips and salsa (no, they are not free, but they are not expensive) and 2 steak tacos. it was AMAZING. the steak was very well seasoned and everything tasted fresh. the chips and salsa, although greasy, were great and just made and everything came out fast. i would say give this place a definate try you will not be disappointed!

Good food, good portions, great service and a fun place (go around the corner to the Park View Inn, as well...wow!).

Look, this isn't the Four Seasons, thank goodness, its really like "Cheers" brought to life with all the embelishments. Awesome food, extra friendly drinks and all at amazing prices. I can tell you all about the particulars, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will convience you of what a great place this is, so just go, try it out and see if it doesn't become one of your regular hangouts in Bloomington-Normal. If you have any concerns or problems - go directly to the owner or his lovely wife about your problems, usually they are there, and the Chef is excellent... no matter if it is Comfort food or Mexican or whatever the daily special is... Please... Please... don't miss this treasure.

This is always a great place to get a good meal. The service is very personable. Simple menu done right.
