Fast Eddie's Bon Air
Reviews
I don't write a review often but this place deserved one. My friend had a graduation party recently at Eddies; thought it would be the typical bar: Food, Drink, & Music. What we found was exactly that except, unlike most bars, while we where mingling with friends and congratulating our friend on her achievement, a waitress came up to us and asked, "Would you like something to drink?" We said "no", primarily because we have to maintain a special diet (cannot have sugar or alcohol). She exclaimed, "You have to purchase something to drink. Also, you can't eat anything unless you get a drink." We told her we are not having anything to eat; just visiting briefly with a friend. Again she exclaimed, "You have to buy something to drink or the owner will kick you out". I looked at her with bewilderment. I couldn't believe what she just said. I repeated what she said to make sure I understood (with the loud music in the background). It was a definitive you must buy a drink. I was upset and bewildered but to not cause a ruckus at my friend's party I made my purchase of a soda of which I could not drink. Immediately after I had made this amazing discovery of " YOU MUST BUY SOMETHING" I witnessed the waitress communicating something to her manager. I later realized the waitress was being hassled by the managers to maintain this " YOU MUST BUY SOMETHING MENTALITY". Fast Eddies is unfortunately not as hospitable of a bar as I would have thought considering the large crowed. I wish others the best of luck, but I am one patron that will not be returning because of this unfortunate experience.
Be patient, sit at bar while waiting for food, free popcorn, just look for it. Your personality determines your experience.! Take a drive up the Great River Road
Good music and able to smoke. reasonable prices on drinks and food
Every time I go the service is excellent. Even if the line to order food is long you just get drunk and in no time you have great cheap food to soak up the alcohol. Then you drink again! The beer glasses are so cold that you can see ice and frost at the bottom of the glass. Even if you go with just 20 bucks you leave a happy person. Make sure you bring enough money for gratuity though! Burgers, steak or pork kabobs are my favorite.
The floor bosses hassle their waitresses to no end. Not something fun to watch. To bad the Loading Dock isn't open year round. Much better atmosphere. Come on Eddie. Get off the waitress' backs. Enough.
