I wouldn't eat here again. Had the shrimp po boy. For 13$ I got 6 shrimp on a hoagie roll that was dry and way too big. Ended up not even eating 2/3 of the roll. The sauce was some kind of mustard based sauce that did not go well with shrimp. The fries were just frozen seasoned fries. My dad got a burger which looked like a frozen patty, but he said it was pretty good. This came with a tiny bag of chips and was 12$. Service was fine, nothing special. Also, there were these strange flies that kept hanging around (inside seating) I would have rather had a meatball sandwich that looked amazing from one of the vendors.
When we approached the entrance we were very poorly greeted by the "hostess". She made no effort to help us feel welcome at the establishment. The interior of the building was really dark and gloomy, like a cave. I recommend sitting outside. Watch out for the flies. Once we found our seats we were greeted by our waiter, Chris. He was really nice and friendly and made up for the poor first impressions. The food was great and the service was good. If you visit make sure you ask for Chris. Overall I'd say that The Troll Tavern is good quality restaurant.
got the chili and it is good. friendly place I would come back.
We had a party of four. We ordered chili cheese fries for $8 thinking it was going to be decent size; however, came out looking like individual soup bowl with a few fries on the bottom. Didn't care too much for the rest of the food (I agree with other reviews. Overpriced and not good) plus it was cold. Probably won't be going back. Our waiter was attentive though.
JC was awesome, supper attentive. Great service. Great location and atmosphere.
