The owner of La Royale passed away this year and family members who inherited the estate are renovating the buildings and upgrading the wine/beer/liquor selections. The cabaret is temporarily closed due to these renovations, but the bar is open and on weekends there are drag shows and other events. This is a place for straights and gays to enjoy. The bar manager Tommy is a scream with his gravelly voice and great sense of humor.

Me and me husband go here every year when we come to town....great service.....sweet people work it...great shows....they really make thou fell at home!

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!! This place has an extreme amount of potential but the owner will not put a penny into improving anything about it, except raising prices. If I owned this bar, I would 1st rip out the carpet because it makes my want to puke anytime I walk in(which is once in a blue moon). Followed by, completely redoing the ventalation system so you doing smell like an ashtray when you leave. I would gut the place including everything from the bathrooms, lighting, sound system, stage area, seating, bars, to the patio area. I would finally hire a much needed DJ. The ONLY thing that I like about this place is the old brick walls. I'd also make sure that ALL bartenders are on the same page as to how to make a decent drink.
