Doc Magrogan's Oyster House
Reviews
A friend asked me to go to Doc Magrogan's 1/24/14 and I agreed. I don't go that often. When I got to the entrance: I asked the Caucasian security guard how much was it to get in $3? He said "What? It's $5! (***NOTE HE SAID $5***) This isn't the Square Club!" (An African American organization in the Dover DE area known as "The New Square Club"). I asked him if that was a racial remark. Of course he replied, "No". I told him I don't go to The Square Club or Doc Magrogan's that often and when I do the Square Club cost $15 or $20. I asked to speak with the manager about my experience and the manager said he did not think that was a racial remark and saw nothing wrong with it. The manager ASKED ME TO LEAVE. He could not tell me why I had to leave. I simply asked for my money back and told him people would hear about this! Before I walked across the casino to Doc Magrogan's I went to a surprise birthday party at the FIRE AND ICE LOUNG. It was in the VIP section and it was free. There was a great band and the place was packed. I really enjoyed myself. About two months ago I went to Doc Magrogan's and the crowd which was mostly african american were complaining about the DJ not wanting to play Hip Hop. I asked the DJ why couldn't he play Hip Hop He said Doc Magrogan's didn't want him playing Hip Hop...... Around 6 months ago. Some friends and I came out to Doc's and I ordered oysters. OVERPRICED! Omg! I never had oysters that high. Food is definitely overpriced for the quality. That was my 2nd time eating there. THESE ARE THE RACIAL EXPERIENCES I'VE HAD WITH DOC MAGROGAN'S LOCATED AT DOVER DOWNS CASINO IN DOVER DE. I HAVE BEEN TO DOC MAGROGAN'S 5 (FIVE OR LESS) TIMES IN THE WHOLE YEAR AND A HALF I'VE LIVED IN DOVER, DE BECAUSE OF MY BAD EXPERIENCES.
Overpriced, okay... but nothing special
