What a treat...after stopping into this place that looks like a cowboy bar, my friend and I had a GREAT lunch. Although "basic fare" (burgers, fries, onion rings), they were literally about the best I've Ever had. The service was also terrific. Two different women greeted/waited on us and one turned out to be the owner when she came by later to check on our meal. When I told her how yummy everything was she explained with pride about their premium ingredients, burgers made by hand, patties "never frozen." Whatever they're doing, you can literally taste the difference. The place is kitchy and fun....vs. "scary" (my friend and I are both female), from the appearance outside one might wonder. There's a pool table too. The beer was also about the coldest I'd ever had and realllly hit the spot, nice variety of beers too, and I was able to get an imported dark beer I like. All in all, a friendly little gem way out in the country and the PERFECT spot for lunch if you're en route to/from Bridgeport or Downieville and a short drive from Nevada City. I'll definitely make a return trip.
40 dollars for 2 burgers with bacon added and fries also an onion ring side. The food was ok but not 20 dollars per plate
