Friar Tuck's Restaurant & Bar
Reviews
This is the most special Restaurant in the world for my daughter and I. We've been coming here for "father/daughter date night" for many years. You cannot beat the ambiance. Low light and we love the "tree room". Service is nice, and you have to get "Abbots Special" hot oil fondue - deep fry your own bits of chicken, beef, scallops, and shrimp. Bailee and Dad give it "Two Thumbs Up"!
Atmosphere was nice. Ordered a teriyaki steak. Tender and well cooked. Veges were ok. Friends ny strip was a bad cut of meat for 28 bucks. For the price the atmosphere matches, the food and guest interaction dont in my eyes.
my family has been coming here for years. now that im married, my husband and i enjoy coming here. once we got a late night reservation and the restaurant was quiet and calm. we took our son, as it was a last minute plan, and the sweet waitress took him around while we ate and celebrated our anniversary. love the service, the customers-we always meet repeats, and the food is delicious and filling! looking forward to having another generation eat here
Prep of food was somewhat off. Some was cooked too long, some not long enough. Service was medoicre. Considering the price point, these things made the value not worth coming back.
I totally concur with the reviews for excellent food, substantial wine list and romantic atmosphere. The bar is always convivial and, on Thursdays (I think), guitar virtuoso John Girton (used to be in the Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks with his then-wife MaryAnn Price) holds forth with his prodigious chops in the bar, where he plays for tips. Maybe the only place where you see a pitcher full of 20s near the piano bar. He's that good. MF
