Moonstone Cellars

Cozy, friendly, a must stop. Even if you prefer reds, try the 2013 Riesling, best I've had since cycling in Germany.
These guys make excellent wines. And the tasting room is a cozy little must stop if you are in Cambria. I'd recommend their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio. Only available in Cambria restaurants and their downtown shop!
As far as I know, the place is still there...at least they still sell wine, and the web page still points to this location. They do have a facebook page as well. In 2008, Aug, we were on our honeymoon, and stayed in Cambria for the usual, with plans to head up to Napa....for the usual. Moonstone Cellars was a great find. They are relatively new to the business, but do it well. We loved the wine, and became members on the spot. We like good wine, and would consider ourselves discerning wine lovers, rather than picky or snobby wine people. The staff and owner are very friends and fun to listen and interact with while tasting the wine. He loves his wine and it shows. They don't just dump wine in the glass and move on. They actually want you to enjoy the wine. Now for the wine. They started in 1998, founded in 2003. So they are still relatively new. But for that, the wine is very good, especially for the price. The wines are well balanced, good flavor, and they have great varieties. Unlike many other wineries, I like all their wines, and have no problems recommending them. I look forward to many years to come, especially as they become old hats at this. Kind of like a new car, turning into an old classic. Great place, great wine, can't go wrong.
