Russo's Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen
Reviews
Stopped in not too long ago for a first try. Eggplant dish was served overdone, greasy, and lukewarm, and I've had better alfredo at a free soup kitchen. Server had no idea which wines paired, or even which wines to recommend purely on taste. Red wine had turned, and the white was served at room temp. Highly dissatisfied with literally every aspect of this place, especially for the price. Go to The Pasta Grill on Front Street instead.
my first visit was pretty good, yesterday I went back to try some of my favorite Italian meals I remember from back home in Philly. I ordered a calzone, I was able to order up to 4 stuffing's, when I got my order I thought it was an appetizer, I've never seen a calzone so small, I ordered mine with peperoni, sausage, peppers and inions, I saw one marble size meatball, I tasted some sausage, no peppers and one onion slice. Calzone's are suppose to have riggota cheese also, for the price I ws very unhappy with the quality of the food and the quantity, the owner needs to travel to Philly to see what a real calzone is suppose to look like this was my last visit, I think if I want Italian again I'll go to Doammici's on Dave Ward drive
Stopped in Sat night 2-22-14 to celebrate fiance's bday. Seated immediately but after 10/15 mins had to ask for service at a booth. Ordered a spin dip for appetizer. Pizza arrived 30 mins later still no appetizer. Server returns and apologizes someone must have taken our appetizer and asks if we still wanted it. Of course we would like what we ordered! After one bite of the cold pizza it was clear it too sat waiting to be delivered. No manager in view,no table visit especially to deliver a reheat pizza and 45 min appetizer. Greasy pizza, barely any toppings or cheese. First time visit and very dissapointed! Would have chosen chicken parm but the price on a menu page (urban spoon) shows much lower price than the actual menu. Might want to check that.
After you order a pizza from Russo's you'll think, damn, Digiorno pizza is really great. Bad service, bland atmosphere, lousy food.
Don't come here trying to get top quality dining for pizza hut prices. This place is above average and the cheesecake is sooooo good! And if the boss is looking, Madison was our waitress and did a great job!
