Firebirds Wood Fired Grill
Reviews
I'm a SUCKER for service, and this Firebirds has it in droves. Our waiter(Aris?) was polite, attentive, and always had a smile. Same for the hostess. The waitress who brought our drinks smiled and said you're welcome, the waiter who brought us our food also smiled and asked how we were and if we needed anything else. I watched the rest of the staff while we waited for our food and while we ate, and it seemed that each made the same efforts to provide positive, helpful service. The food was excellent --- great beer list, too. I was craving a burger, even though I've had most of the fish entrees at other Firebirds and have enjoyed each of them. I had the Blue Cheese burger, added bacon, medium rare. The burger was juicy and cooked to a true medium rare, the blue cheese sauce was true crumbled blue cheese, NOT a salad dressing, the portabella mushrooms had a nice firm texture and weren't overcooked, and the bacon was EXCELLENT, and at only fifty cents extra, I couldn't believe it! Girlfriend had the portabella sandwich -- all ingredients were very fresh, as was the bread. We both had fries(again, craving), and the steak fries were expertly cooked. I also love that they serve ketchup in a small dish, as opposed to leaving a bottle on every table. Just slightly more classy that way. I've enjoyed the food at every Firebirds I've been to, but I decided to write this review because the service at the Hoover location is worth spending your hard-earned money for when you're surrounded by so many dining options.
We used to really enjoy this place. Tonight was the second night that it was poor. However, this time taste was lacking in both beverages and steak. Not too sure that I will be back.
I love the BLT salad! I alway get it with the balsamic vinaigrette instead of the ranch...try it!!!
Creme Brûlée Cheesecake was delicious, the food was just OK.
Quality steak with rich flavor. The best in Birmingham hands down.
