Frankie's Market Cafe

good place great food better people
Food is good, basically a "Meat & 3" type of place with other offerings. Staff is southern and relatively friendly. My plate was about $9 with a drink, plus tip (add 2 more bucks) so $11 out the door mostly for lunch - not bad for a good meal in the middle of the day. I could have had water and gotten out of there for $9 ( I did a meat plus 2 veggies which was plenty). I recommend the Jalepeno muffin for bread. Very good! Atmosphere is less than desirable but adequate for a quick meal ready to go. One half of the place is a produce type of market, the other half is the dining, dare I say "restauarant." Crowd: You'll fit right in if you're about 65 to 80 years old. I was the youngest bloke in there at 36 years old. On my way out the door the lady asked me if everything was fine, and I responded "yes." So this means alot when people ask you about your experience. Rumor is that Frankie is a grump, so I didn't run into him.
Went there with my 9 year old son on Sunday 7/28/13 - We bought 3 Meat with 2 veggies. (chicken fingers and Mac and Cheese plates) When we rang it up with no drinks it was over $30 so I mentioned that it seemed a little high. The Owners wife who was running the register told us they normally charge 30% less other days but I Sunday they offer more items. I said "so because your menu is larger on Sunday the prices go up??" She went off and said I must not work for a living, that they had to pay employees to come in and work on Sunday etc. etc... long list and then told me I needed to go somewhere else to eat. I told her she was rude and walked out. The owner came up to my truck as my son and I were pulling out yelling cuss words in front of my son, telling me not to call his wife rude. I had no right. (again) I probably didn't even work - ??? - RUDE RUDE RUDE I will never be back for $10 meat and 2 vegies anyway. Not worth it especially to be treated so poorly. We got home and had extra small portions also. 3 bites of vegies and they were gone. Bad place. Avoid at all cost!
Pretty good "meat and three" style place. Not the healthiest food ever, but it's usually hot and tasty, and the staff is always polite. A great place to grab a quick, easy meal.
