The Yarn and Beads have moved to 716 Totem Way #100, downtown next to Parnassus book store on the famous Creek Street. It is now called "The Hive on the Creek". The Point is now an Art Cafe.
These people are excellent! I do some jewelry work, and often they are where I go to get findings, etc. Their prices are a bit steep, however anything in Ketchikan will be. Their food is also somewhat spendy, but very nice. I feel bad that I can't afford to spend more money around this joint.
The Point is part art gallery, part yarn and bead store, part coffee shop /cafe. The eclectic mix of hand-crafted ceramics and prints, natural yarns and unique beads would entice any who appreciate beautiful art. Add the espresso and homemade soups, and this family-owned gallery becomes the perfect spot. The view of Tongass Narrows, and local fishing boats and vessels provides a great backdrop to coffee with friends, or browsing through shelves of enticing yarns and walls of paintings and photos.
