Wasabi's Restaurant
Reviews

I am a sushi fanatic. This is the place in Homer for the best Sushi. I live in Homer and have been loving Colt's sushi for more than 10 years. His first sushi place was in the back corner of the Alibi Bar, the sushi was good then and it is great now. Go see Colt for sushi in Homer. If you aren't into sushi, Dali colts wife and partner in Wasabi's cooks an absolutely awesome Filet mignon, and the Halibut "Butt Dip" appetizer is my families favorite.

Very expensive! Service was great, food is delicious, and the view is incredible!

The duck is to die for! My Homer favorite! Great view, friendly staff, fantastic ambiance, amazing mosaics created by owner Dali herself. TEDxHomer's after party there 9-10-11! Incredibly community minded, and exceptionally easy to work with.

When we first entered, we were asked to wait at the bar to be seated. We stared at a nearly empty restaurant for 15 minutes, waiting to be deemed worthy of a table. The bartender, although not busy, would ask us a question and then turn his back on us to go do other things before we could begin to answer, and never did offer to make us drinks. When we were finally seated, the menu was sparse and overpriced. The sushi menu was poorly conceived and did not offer much in the way of a description. I ordered a roll that I order in other sushi restaurants and have enjoyed in the past. My date ordered a steak. When the food finally came to the table, the plating for my sushi was exquisite while the plating for the steak was just a steak laying on a pile of mashed potatoes. When I took a bite of my sushi, my mouth immediately was on fire. The roll I ordered has never been very spicy anywhere else I have had it, usually just garnished with some wasabi mayo, but Wasabi's version was beyond bearable for me.. Apparently they added some kind of sprinkle of dried peppers. I only ate one piece, and ordered many glasses of water. My stomach was burning and I was overall unhappy and uncomfortable. When the waitstaff finally caught on that I was unhappy with my food they offered to replace it, which I was very impressed by. I asked for the same roll without the peppers they had added. It turns out they put the peppers on in the first place to cover up the blandest, most boring roll I have ever tasted in my life. My date said the same about his steak, that it was bland and boring, not worth the high prices. Wasabi's ruined our date night. By the end of it we were ready to just call it quits and head home. The only redeeming qualities of this restaurant are the beautiful layout and decor, and the million-dollar view.

Whenever friends visit from Anchorage, Wasabi's is the place they wish to go to celebrate. They love the sushi, the mac and cheese and the view!
