Nothing like feeling at 'home' when you walk into the restaurant greeted with a friendly smile. The food is very tasty and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If you want 'comfort food', this is the place to go. Very organic and fresh food that will put a smile on your face and make your day great. Great place to go for Breakfast and Lunch!
We stumbled into Sourdough Express the first time not knowing what to expect. We found a quaint little cafe with waitresses dressed in plaid and jeans, and fantastic food! Hubby got eggs, reindeer sausage, potatoes, and sourdough toast. I had a piece of french toast and reindeer sausage. It was all delicious, but what impressed us most was our waitress, Shellie. She was sparkling and bubbly and didn't even write our order down, and our order was correct in every way. The next morning we went out on a fishing charter at 6:00 am, so we weren't able to come back. But the following morning, we were back to see Shellie, just as bubbly as our first morning, and she even remembered us. Our breakfast that morning was also just as delicious and just as correct. We were rather sad when we came back our last morning in Homer to find that Shellie wasn't working, and sad to say that our service that morning was not as good. Shellie is an excellent waitress and a joy to visit with, and she is definitely an important asset to Sourdough Express!! Thank you Shellie!
