My dad& I often eat lunch there, 6 to 10 times a year. Often we'll have the fish&chips, try the cold cucumber soup or the water melon soup in the summer . The outside patio is great in summer&fall, the pub is bright&airy&you!ll meet people from all over the world. I've waited 20 min in the summer to get my meal , I've also waited almost as long @a chip stand &spaying Just as much for lunch.on a cold&windy day dad &bi will eat in the dining ,room beside the fire place . You can get the same meal , which ever part you eat in. Bob&dad

It was the first time in my life when I had to put ketchup on my meal (medium rare beef) to be able to eat it. It tasted like boiled beef and the gravy tasted like dirty water. The soup was OK after adding a lot of salt and pepper. The waiter served our meal while speaking on the phone!!!!!!!! She didn't show us to our table, she just said :"There is a table for 6, go ahead". We lost two hours of our lives in that place and paid a lot of money on the most disgusting meal ever. DON'T GO THERE!!!!!

After a wonderful day trip to celebrate my wife's birthday, our family decided to take the scenic route home to Ottawa and stop in Merrickville for dinner. This Inn had a sign saying that children's meals were free if you buy an adult entrée. We assumed this meant that a family was welcome here. We were clearly mistaken. We chose to sit in the courtyard where guests are spread out so we wouldn't disturb other tables. The first person we saw greeted us with extremely nasty comments about our children, making us feel very unwelcome. We assumed this was just a rude guest just leaving the restaurant, but when we later went in to inform the staff we were shocked to learn that this was Dave, the owner of the Inn. We were embarrassed, uncomfortable and extremely angry and our experience was completely soured by this interaction. One of the servers, who were excellent, apologised for his behaviour, but the damage was done. I will have a hard time separating this incident from my impressions of an otherwise lovely town. This is not a family friendly restaurant - bring your family somewhere else.

Our server did not know her products and the only effort she made to correct her mistake when I brought it to her attention was to make an off the cuff remark, snicker, and walk away. An offer to bring me something else or remove the incorrect product from my bill would have gone along way. If you like service with sneer, this is the place for you.

Great selection of ales in the pub. The food and staff are were excellent. I often take my house guest here for a taste of the village. Would recommend anyone visiting Merrickville, try it.
